I went with Champlain Elementary School to visit one of the worlds largest COMPOSTS at the Intervale in Burlington. I had no idea it could get as hot as 175 degrees in the centers of these piles.... This place, in my book, is a worthy tourist attraction and it is an incredibly strange that they are forced to move the whole operation to Williston. Personally I believe this goes hand in hand with the spirit of what is underneath the grounds and it would be interesting to hear the opinions of the Abenaki people.
